Pan-European Open Data Challenge #opendataFI

Earlier today the Open Knowledge Foundation announced the Open Data Challenge – a pan-European open data competition.

The competition is open for the next 60 days and there are €20,000 in prizes up for grabs! As seems fitting for a pan-European initiative, the winners will be announced by EC Vice President Neelie Kroes in Brussels this coming June.

I will announce the Finnish challenge: Finland will be top country both in the number and quality of the submissions in this competition. We have been practicing all ready in the Apps for Democracy Finland ’09 and Apps for Finland ’10.

At least we should beat our neighbors Sweden and Estonia 🙂 I know that the Estonian developer / open data community is growing stronger day by day, about the swedes I don’t know.

So follow us in Twitter #opendataFI!
